Some days meditation can seem easy. You feel calm, you feel chill, and you have a general sense of peace.

Other times meditation can feel the exact opposite. You feel worked up, your thoughts are racing and you can’t seem to get out of your own head. It can be tough to stay focused.

In each of these scenarios, one is not necessarily better than the other. The most important part is that you’ve taken the time to sit and breathe. You can choose to focus on building the habit rather than the outcome. Some days are going to be easier than others. Even the most experienced meditators experience difficult and uncomfortable sessions from time to time.

So if it doesn’t feel perfect, that’s totally okay. It’s not supposed to be. Accept yourself in the moment regardless of how well you think you’re doing. Let go of any judgement.

With practice and time, you’ll really start to notice the benefits that meditation has to offer. Even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment. Commit to the habit and good things happen.
