Why Would I Want To Train Barefoot?

Why would I want to train barefoot?

Because barefoot training is best!

We may not have the luxury of removing our shoes and socks at commercial gyms, but we can certainly experience the benefits of barefoot training in our own homes.

We’re not going to start a rant about how most running shoes are terrible for our bodies (although that’s something we all need to understand). Instead, we want to turn your attention to why barefoot exercise is so awesome. Barefoot training can improve the function of your feet 👣 and that function is necessary to have quality movement up your kinetic chain (knees, hips, spine, even the neck).

Plus, there are loads of benefits! ⤵️

  • Better awareness of your feet and body.

  • Strengthens the intrinsic foot muscles that get ‘turned off’ by wearing shoes.

  • Improves the mobility of the toes to ensure a healthy range of motion

  • Increases overall stability by strengthening all three foot arches

  • Improves muscle alignment

  • Prevents bunions and foot deformities

  • Helps to re-connect you to your body

  • Gives a liberating feeling

And of course, please be extra careful as to not stub your toes or drop a weight on your foot. Ouch! 😖

Try doing your next at-home workout without shoes and socks and let us know how it goes!

Move well. Live well.™
