Fascial Stretch Therapy
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is an integral component at Oakville Performance & Wellness. Our experienced therapists have learned directly under the FST creators Ann & Chris Frederick from the Stretch To Win Institute in Arizona. We use FST to quickly and effectively improve the flexibility, range of motion, and movement patterns of our clients. FST can be used as part of the exercise session or separately on its own depending on the needs of the client.
What is fascia?
Fascia is the most prevalent tissue in the body and can affect your overall health and well-being. Fascia covers everything in your body: your organs, circulatory system, brain and nervous system, musculoskeletal system and more. When you experience stress (physical, mental, and/or emotional) your fascia reacts by tightening and stiffening.
What are the effects of untreated fascia?
When your fascia is left unattended to, aging of the body, mind and spirit accelerates, function decreases and quality of life deteriorates. Untreated fascia can cause:
